                         Story
The Pandavas were doing a HavanYadnya in honour of their father, Pandu, in the Purandar taluka. At that time there was a major drought. Lord Krishna told them that there is a mountain called Chaturmukh Parvat in west where Lord Brahma was performing a penance. He had a kamandalu, also known as karh-patra (an earthen pot of sages), which was filled with water of the Ganges, and if the kamandalu was broken then the river would start flowing again.
Arjuna went to Chaturmukh Parvat;but krishna gave him some advice about Lord Bramha's penance and his anger after the disturbance in his penance and told that bramha can kill him or can curse him so be careful. Krishna gave him instructions.he broke the kamandalu, unfortunately lord bramha awakened due to the cold water and due to his anger the lord tried to beat him;but as per Lord Krishna's advice he made some Shivlinga in path of Bramha, because bramha was a devotee of Shiva he started worshiping Lord Shiva. The river that flowed from the karha patra kamandalu, Arjun consecrated lot of shivlingas and koteshwar was consecrated in the Kodit village
